Shark Bait!

Ma and Pa -- purchased a new toy for me! A squeaky shark.

Cost of toy:  .97
Time spent destroying toy:  > 3 minutes
Enjoyment: Priceless

This is a photo of when I first got the toy! Look how happy, I am!

Don't I look handsome? I had so much fun. First, I broke the squeaker, then I chewed the toy to bits.

Button Nose

Life has gotten in the way again. We visited my grandparents in New Mexico during thanksgiving and they had a little chihuahua. Her name is Tillie! She is a handful and rather rascally. Truth be told I'm not sure if I like her, yet. I have seen her a few times since thanksgiving but all she wants to do is follow me around!

This last visit she bit my ear and tried to nip my legs! Wholly cow what is wrong with this dog!? Anyway - Ma has pictures of her from our visits going back to thanksgiving and I just might post them!

BTW - When I was in, NM they kept calling me city-slicker! Will post more on why later.

-Gotta go wake up, Ma and Pa - Time to play fetch!

Trick-o-Treat

Today, I went to petsmart to get my pawdicure. I grumbled and carried on because I hate it even if I feel better afterwards.

While, I was there my mom and dad forced me to try on costumes. They took pictures but thankfully they did not buy the bloody outfit.

I vant to suck you blood!

The Jig is up!

Hahahahaha....

I really played up my injury, today. I made mom carry me everywhere! If she left my sight I whimpered until she picked me up and carried me while she did her stuff.

I simply REFUSED to walk. It was a splendid day of spoiling and coddling.

The jig was up when dad came home and I jumped off the sofa and ran up to him and danced. After that mom refused to give me extra spoils since I tricked her.

Paw Injury

Last night at the park I hurt my paw. Mom and Dad did not notice until we got home and I was limping. I wasn't in any major pain but they examined me and found out that I tore the pad off my paw. Mom soaked it in water and put a bandage on it.

I went to the vet today and they cleaned it up, cut off the pad and bandaged me up!  I am now on restriction from the park, walking outside and playing too much.

Life is going to be a bit difficult the next few days...

Insanity

The trip to New Mexico was fun, fun, fun! Granny C and Grampa M came with us to celebrate mom's birthday!

We drove for hours but I play in the SUV and snuggled with my awesome grandparents in the back seat. We got into NM and checked into our hotel, which I love because it means, more people too bark at and unlimited access to my parents. Woot!

A lot happened but I'll just give you the cliff notes version.

I was chased and terrorized by a 1 year old , until I found safety under a table and in the arms of others. I was loved, loved, loved! I got millions of hugs, kisses and belly rubs, what more could a small dog ask for?

I was denied delicious rib bones ( I assume they are delicious, all the other dogs seem to enjoy them and taunt me for not being allowed them) and I spent nearly the entire day in my mom's arms. There were loads of people, big dogs ( country dogs, my mom calls them) and noise.

Fun was had but the best part was coming back home!

Life is like a bag of beggin strips, Delicious!

Life is great! The holidays were fun and we had loads of people visiting us and now we are headed out on a trip of our very own.

My mom's birthday is just around the corner and we are going to New Mexico to see family and celebrate! A new dog park opened up near my house and we go quite often. At first I was scared but then I got the hang of it. I jump, yelp and pull my lead until they release me into the grassy field filled with others of my kind.

I tend to play fetch more than anything but it is soooooooooooo, much fun!

Lots of licks!

I heard the bells on Christmas day ...

A bit before midnight, I snuck down stairs and low and behold there was something on a chair for me. I sniffed around a bit and pulled one precious gift off the chair.

I heard Mom and Dad peeking over the stairs. I ran to hide with my treasured item but they called me up the stairs.

I ran up the stairs, tail wagging, gift in my mouth. They laughed as, I ran under the bed. They called me out and even though I knew they would take my treasure, I came out.

I ran into the spare room and hide under that bed, they the ignored me, so I ran into the office and jumped on the sofa.

The smiled at me as I dug into my gift (I thought, they were going to take it away!). My eyes grew wide with excitement, there was really something in there for me!

I made noise and smelled so good. I played a bit and tried to run downstairs for more.  Blasted, they blocked the, stairs with a baby gate. I jumped in bed with my purple toy and slept soundly until morning.

We went down the stairs, turned on the tree and they let me open gift and gift. Then later people stopped by with more gifts for me. What a fantastic day!

I wish everyday was, Christmas day. I get away with so much more!

Christmas time is here, it's a jolly good time of the year...

Whew...I never knew this holiday stuff could be so exciting! Mom and Dad put up a tree (who puts a tree up in the house?). It has shiny objects on it and twinkling lights.

I immediatly chews the soft fabric under the tree, until mom caught me and said something about leaving her tree skirt alone! I sulked off and watched her walk away... then when she wasn't looking, I attacked it again.

I tore it to shreads and mom looked very sad, so I jumped on her lap and kissed her. All is forgivin!

The day of and the day after.

I had surgery. I had no idea it was coming. I woke up, like any ordinary day, did my usual thing and before I knew it we were rock-n-rolling (going for a car ride).

I jumped in the car, sat on mom's shoulders and anxiously awaited our destination (I thought we were going to granny's house).

We, arrived at my doctors and I thought ok, no problem another shot and then we are off. Well, that was not the case, Mom and Dad left me there. I thought they were never coming back and had abandoned me. On top of that, I had gained weight and was a heavy 5.5 pounds.

I stood in a kennel trembling, scared and anxious. The doctor came to me and before I knew it I was waking up, sore, in pain and needing my mommy.

I had been neutered, had baby teeth pulled and had an umbilical hernia repaired. Every time someone, got near my kennel, I showed them my teeth, barked and growled.

Finally, someone took me out and when they carried me into another room, I could hardly contain my excitement, Mom and Dad where there. They came back for me.

Mom gently picked me up and we went home. The next two weeks went by so slowly. I couldn't play the way I was use to and I had a cone on my head.

See my photos below and send me pity kisses.

Been Busy... Playing!

Playing is my favorite past time and I have been playing lots and lots! However something terrible happened.

My humans kept talking about this event called “Halloween” It sounded like fun! Treats, people, walking, what else is there to life?

Well… little did I know that I was going to be forced to wear a ridiculous hat. They called it a costume, I call it torture.

I snarled, growled and bared my teeth, yet somehow with the use of delicious treats (Snausages, my weakness) they tricked me into it.

To my horror they took photos and I’ve posted my complete humiliation for you to see only because I do look cute!

The Stairs

Hola!

I live in two story house and one of my most favorite things to do is play on the stairs. I play with my toys and challenge my humans to races. I always win; I get to the top and bottom first! Walking on two legs must really slow a person down.

Today was an unusually boring day! The only thing of interest is that I have been losing teeth. Mom says it’s just baby teeth and not to worry but how would she like it if her teeth just fell out of her mouth and bleed while she was playing games and eating. Since they aren't terribly worried, like I feel they should be, I keep leaving in places that increase the likely hood they will step on them. Serves them right to get poked by my beautiful discarded teeth.

I better get going before my human finds me, mom's been sick and sneezy. I sure hope I don't catch what she has but I sure love finding and tearing up her kleenex.

Adios,
Billy

Busy, Busy, Busy

My paws have been busy, sorry for the lack of updates. I had to travel with my humans! We went to New Mexico, for a funeral. It was all very sad, my mom's grandpa died and her aunt had a stroke.

While they were out doing funeral stuff, I stayed at my Granny's house. I remember that place! I lived there the first few weeks of my life. I roamed around and sniffed out my old spots.

When everyone came back, I had a blast. Loads of people to play with and I got so much attention and affection. At night we stayed in a hotel and I was a bit on edge. I barked at all the unfamiliar noises and explored the room.On our last night there, a piece of paper was slipped under out door at 4:30am it startled me! I barked, woke up my humans and they praised me for being such a good watch dog!

I was frightened but they thought I was warning them. Silly bipedal people

Escape Artist

Today was eventful, fun and exciting. My humans went out and left me alone. Normally when they leave I howl and pretend to cry so they will feel horrible and take me with them, today I didn't because I had a plan.

When they leave they put me in the bathroom in the master suite. They place a baby gate in the doorway, trapping me in. As soon as they left today, I pushed and pushed up against the gate until it wobbled and a small part of it gave way. I squeezed out thru the opening.

Freedom is so sweet. I never had the entire house to myself and it was time to explore. First, I ran thru all the bedrooms, climbed down the first flight of stairs and pooped on the landing. That will teach them to leave me.

I then ran downstairs, jumped on the sofa and contemplated chewing on the library books but then my eyes opened wide and I remembered mom's delicious bookmarker. I leaned over the sofa, climbed onto the end table and snatched the bookmarker, jumped off the sofa and started to nibble on it with glee.

I got in a few nibbles and then the horror. I heard the garage door open. I brushed back my hair and ran to the door. They came into the house and I did a sneak attack. Looked adorable and giving them loads of kisses.

I was so cute, I didn't get in trouble, in fact they were so impressed with me. Can't wait to do it again!

Ciao,
Billy

The Sofa Incident

Today  I got caught on their "precious" sofa. You see I am only allowed on it when they put up a "special"blanket but I prefer the pillows. I tried to look as cute and innocent as possible. Mom snapped a photo of me as evidence.
The way I see it is, if they leave the room, anything is fair game. That includes the sofa, any and all pillows, basically anything in my reach. I am currently typing from inside what they call my house but if you ask me it is a cage with some blankets and toys in it.

I better go it is almost dinner time and I sure am hungry. Maybe tonight I can get table scraps. That has never happened but a dog can wish, can't he?
Bow Wow...

Billy

First Post.

Hello faithful followers,

My name is, Billy The Chihuahua. I live in a beautiful house with my human mom and dad. I am a little over 4 months old and weigh 4.6 pounds. My mom says when she first got me I was only 2.4 pounds. I can't imagine ever being that small!

I spend most of the day sleeping, playing, eating and tricking my people into taking me outside to do my "business". Not in that order.

I like to eat bugs and chase leaves. I live on a golf course and always bark at the golfers who get to close to my house. I don't like them to encroach on my property.

I hear my mom coming, so I better get going before she yells at me for being on the laptop. You step on the keys ONE time, jam it up and they never let you near it again!

Bow..wow
xo,
Billy

p.s I posted a picture of my first day with my humans.
